Made-to-order & bespoke
Much of what we make is produced after you place your order. We work this way intentionally. It allows us to produce in small quantities, reduce unnecessary waste and give the artisans who make our pieces the time and care their work deserves.
Made-to-order
Our made-to-order pieces are standard Into Gaia designs created after your order. Where applicable, they are created from limited hand-beaded panels that are cut specifically to the size selected for your order. The design itself is an Into Gaia design, but the finished piece is created specifically after your order rather than taken from standard finished stock.
Bespoke
Our bespoke pieces are created using limited hand-beaded panels and made to your individual measurements, specifications or personal requirements. The panel is cut specifically for you according to the measurements and details agreed for your piece.
Making times
Every product page shows the making time for that particular piece, where applicable. This is the time from when you place your order until your parcel is ready to leave us.
Delivery
Standard delivery takes 5–7 working days once your parcel has been handed to the courier. Expedited delivery takes approximately 1–5 working days, depending on the shipment location and destination. Making time and delivery time are separate.
Quality check
Every piece is inspected and photographed during our final quality check before it is wrapped. We retain these records so that we can refer back to the condition and specifications of a piece when it left us if there is ever a question about its condition, quality or conformity. These records do not replace or limit statutory consumer rights.
Changing your mind while you wait
Pre-order pieces and standard pieces that have not yet entered production can be cancelled before dispatch, where applicable. Made-to-order and bespoke pieces may be cancelled within 24 hours of ordering, before the hand-beaded panel is cut. Once the relevant production stage has been reached, the piece is final sale for change of mind where permitted by applicable law. Custom pieces are final sale for change of mind once production has begun, where permitted by applicable law.
Repair pack
All made-to-order and bespoke pieces include a small repair pack containing spare beads and materials for minor repairs.
Ordering for a date
If you need a piece for a particular occasion, write to us before you order and tell us the date. We'll let you know honestly whether we can meet it.
Ordering more than one piece
If your order contains pieces with different making or pre-order times and they are all being dispatched from the same country, we'll normally ship the order together once the final piece is ready. If you'd like certain pieces sooner, we recommend placing separate orders. If pieces are being made or dispatched from different countries, they may arrive in separate parcels.
Alterations
We offer lengthening and shortening on bespoke pieces, and shortening on selected made-to-order pieces. Alterations are quoted separately from £50. Please ask before ordering if you would like to discuss an alteration. Pieces we have shortened or lengthened for you are final sale for change of mind once the alteration has begun, where permitted by applicable law.
What we will always put right
• A piece more than 2cm outside the measurements on our size chart
• A fault in our making
• An error in the agreed specification
This does not limit any greater statutory rights that apply to your order.
Before you order
Check your measurements. We work in non-stretch fabrics, so if you are between sizes, we generally recommend taking the larger size. If you're unsure, write to us and we're happy to advise.
